July Update

Hello Tennis Fans!

Things are going well down South, and I must say relaxing in Charleston is not a bad way to spend the summer. It feels as though summer has been flying by, especially since I started training again last week! It feels like only yesterday I was playing the Pro Singles, but now I am looking ahead to my next tournament, the Pell Cup in Newport, RI. I am teaming up with Ben Cook, one of the top amateurs in the US, to take on a strong field of Professionals for the title.

I have been working on a few projects this summer, one of the biggest of which is the Daniel Island Project. We are hoping to get a court build here in Charleston, and for the last 5 years or so have been working hard at it. I am excited to say that we are getting very close! An amazing group has come together, and with the help of the USCTA and USCTPF, we have reached the fundraising point of the project. If you are interested in helping please check out the tab on my website titled Daniel Island, or check us out on Facebook under Daniel Island Court Tennis.

Another side project I have joined is part of a research and development team for Lulu Lemon. I am working with them to improve their men’s clothing line, and it is a pretty good project to be on. If you haven’t tried their stuff, I must say it is VERY comfortable.

The Pell Cup is in August and I will be heading up early to prepare in Boston. I hope to catch up with you all over the next few weeks, and would love to hear about your summers!

MY TRAINING DIET

Hey Guys!

So I tend to get asked about my diet and training regime. Well today I want to give you all a little inside look into my training diet. My diet has changed many times over the years, and is very different depending on what point of the season I am in. To break it down there are essentially 3 different diets that I have: the offseason diet, the training diet, and the tournament diet.

Today I am going to talk about my training diet. This means my time leading up to the tournaments where I am getting fit and strong. My training diet is the most strict in the group, as the fitness I get during my training needs to last for a few months of tournaments.  The diet consists of 6-8 small meals a day, with the number changing depending on  how much training I do. Below is a breakdown for you, which lists my favorite combination of meals and snacks. Obviously I don’t eat exactly the same thing everyday, but these are my favorites for each category!

scrambled eggs

10AM – Snack

Juice Plus+ capsules

The goal of the diet is to constantly be getting nutrients into my system. By eating lots of small meals my body always has food to use for energy. I try to make all of the meals as healthy as possible, while at the same time making sure I get the substance needed to train.

If you are wondering what Juice Plus+ capsules are, they are whole food based nutrition, including juice powder concentrates from 25 different fruits, vegetables and grains. Juice Plus+ helps bridge the gap between what you should eat and what you do eat every day. Not a multivitamin, medicine, treatment or cure for any disease, Juice Plus+ is made from quality ingredients carefully monitored from farm to capsule to provide natural nutrients your body needs to be at its best.

The capsules are easy to take, and give me the extra fruits and veggies I need for all of my training. Most of us, including myself, don’t get our daily amount of fruits and veggies. Juice Plus+ gives me a way to add some in without much effort. If you want more information on them or are interested in trying them out, just email me at: camdenriviere@gmail.com and check out my Juice Plus+ website at Camden Riviere Juice Plus+
